Journey to Womanhood

Empowering our young women to listen to the wisdom of their body and cultivate a relationship with their inner world.

Empowering Young Women: Navigating the Journey of Self-Discovery

During our teenage years and into our early twenties, we’re in the midst of some serious changes – physically and emotionally. It’s like we’re on this rollercoaster ride of self-discovery, figuring out who we are and who we want to become. But let’s be real, in a world filled with endless possibilities and societal pressures, this journey can feel pretty overwhelming and confusing.

That’s why now, more than ever, young women need some guidance that really empowers them in finding the answers to who and what they are. By turning our attention inwards and listening to the wisdom of our bodies, we can start to discover true peace and self-acceptance, embrace our natural rhythms – and cultivate a strong foundation in which to grow into adulthood.

That’s where circles for young women come in. They are spaces where we can explore all sorts of themes, from mindfulness meditation to expressing ourselves through art and movement, even getting in tune with our menstrual cycles and practicing self-care. It’s all about supporting you as you navigate the journey of becoming more of who you truly are.

“When women lose touch with their real selves, the harmony of the world ceases to exist and destruction sets in. It is therefore crucial that women everywhere make every effort to rediscover their fundamental nature, for only then can we save this world.” (Amma)

When young women aren’t given a safe space with the guidance that empowers into womanhood, they may unconsciously take on the conditioning of their family, peer groups, society and the culture they grow up in, or they might rebel against them altogether. This can lead to feelings of disconnection, guilt, shame, anger and uneasiness about their body, weighed down by expectations that stifle rather than celebrate who they truly are.

Many girls and women carry deep-seated beliefs about having to look or act a certain way to be worthy of love. But as we go through this journey we begin to realise the essence of who we are, which is so much more then our outer appearance.

The Journey to Womanhood is all about creating a safe space where young women can explore various themes like menstrual cycle awareness and body image perceptions without judgment.

Each session follows the head, heart, and hands model, which means we dive into learning and group discussions,  practice meditation to connect with ourselves on a deeper level and get creative with art activities. It’s all about empowering ourselves and embracing our true essence.

'I don't see distant wars or environmental capitalism being able to survive in a world full of initiated women.'  The Dalai Lama

” Great Mystery,
teach me how to trust
my heart,
my mind,
my intuition,
my inner knowing,
the senses of my body,
the blessings of my spirit.
Teach me to trust these things
so that I may enter my Sacred Space
and love beyond my fear,
and thus Walk in Balance
with the passing of each Sun. “
